On my desk sits a reminder that 76% of site selectors make assumptions about a community with one visit to its website. At Marion CAN DO!, we are dedicated to attracting top-of-the-line businesses, hard-working employees and unwavering leaders to Marion, Ohio. A major component of this mission is ensuring America’s Workforce Development Capital® catches the eye of these key decision-makers, business executives and area leaders.
This statistic and our passion for the community drove three important projects over the last year. Marion CAN DO! has worked behind the scenes to ensure its recruitment and retention efforts meet the business demands for 2022 and beyond. These efforts included:
- Partnering with local businesses, educational institutions and historic sites to develop a hype video touting Marion’s key industries and educational offerings. Watch it here.
- Developing a new website with a core focus on site selection and attributes that make our community a great place to live, work and play.
- Crafting a new strategic plan that reinforces our claim as America’s Workforce Development Capital® with data-backed insights and enhanced digital strategies.
Each of these projects has reminded us of one key detail: there is momentum in Marion, Ohio—and our workforce sets up apart. We’re excited to share Marion’s story, one site selector at a time.
