Our city schools are a model for others nationwide, thanks to the “Leader in Me” program that teaches students seven habits of effective leadership. RAMTEC is known throughout the nation as a flagship school for robotics training. Training like this continues to provide the Marion community with a highly-trained and uniquely-certified workforce. Marion county schools are also an important piece of the educational corridor here in Marion. County schools share a focus on agriculture, along with robotics training, that are setting our students up for success in their future careers.

Our Center for Workforce Development (CWD) trains hundreds of individuals each year to improve skills that lead to business success. Whether your organization is for-profit or non-profit, private, public, or government, we have 30 years of experience helping employers get results in a wide variety of industries.

Federally funded on-the-job-training is also available at CWD and is designed to increase the employment and retention of U.S. workers. Eligible workers are often new entrants to the labor force or those seeking new skills to become re-employed after a layoff. Opportunities are also available for individuals who need special training to obtain productive, self-sustaining employment.

Tri-Rivers serves Central Ohio by providing nationally recognized industry certifications and workforce training for high school and adult students.

Apprenticeship Training—leading to employment in Industrial Maintenance. (Whirlpool, Vaughn Industries, etc)

Tri-Rivers School of Nursing offers Healthcare Training leading to certifications/diplomas (PN, LPN to RN, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Paramedic)

Tri-Rivers’ RAMTEC (Robotics & Advanced Manufacturing Technology Education Collaborative) is the Nation’s only provider of Robotics & Advanced Manufacturing Industry Certifications all under one roof. RAMTEC provides training/certifications in FANUC Robotics, Motoman Robotics, Parker Hydraulics, Mitsubishi PLC, Allen Bradley PLC, Lincoln Robotic Welding, and Welding & Fabrication.

Workforce development takes many forms at The Ohio State University. With over 200 majors—all of them accessible through The Ohio State University at Marion—and over 16,000 degrees conferred annually, you will find trained and capable Ohio State graduates in almost any field you can imagine.

Ohio State Marion offers the rigor and depth of an Ohio State education delivered in a smaller, more intimate campus. Eight four-year majors can be completed entirely on the Marion campus. Any Ohio State degree can be started in Marion and finished on the Columbus campus.

MAWAC provides the next generation an integrated opportunity to develop professional skills by combining education with industry. This collaborative partnership connects local students to Marion area educational, business and workforce development leaders, including representatives from local school districts, Marion Technical College, The Ohio State University at Marion, OhioHealth, and the Marion Area Chamber of Commerce, to name a few.

Since its founding in 2019, more than 1,000 students have benefited from MAWAC through conversations with local employers who provide an inside look into potential career paths. Together, students and program partners are fueling our workforce pipeline and building a prosperous future for our community.
