Nucor Corp. has said it will spend $85 million to modernize its Marion plant, a move that the company says will help retain 265 jobs and add up to 15 new jobs.
The plant produces steel, mainly for use in rebar and signposts.
“We are excited to bring this modernization project to Ohio that will enhance our ability to produce the most-efficient and highest-quality recycled steel available in the market,” said Mike Hess, general manager of Nucor Steel Marion. “We are especially proud to make this investment in the Marion community.”
